a colorful week

Upon reflection

garden reflections

it was an incredibly colorful week

red leaves

which you'd expect when you hang with gardeners

mass and flowers

fuchsia and drops

but i was thinking more of this

bag of roots

and this

the garbage monster

but even there you'll see some fantastic things

a marriage of green bottles

heron amongst garbage

merely getting around was colorful

til i bus

and often painterly

battersea and monet

there were some blues Miles Davis could have worked with

blue drops and pot

blue swirl

and some blues that were yellow (don't wanna know why)

yellow blue pool

some yellow quite mellow

But often the most colorful moments were those with the bugs

rosemary beetle

like this extremely green thing

or this huge one -who had an orange mouth, which i slightly envy

stag beetle

but as is often the case, red-hot red was hottest

dusk to dusk

it was around dusk

birch at dusk

and dusk changes things, doesn't it, it mixes things

bushes and pond at sunset

and forests become branches

forrest drive-by

and branches become waves

watery forrest

and bushes become fire

flaming bush drive by

and silver turns to gold

twigs in pond

and birches start playing tag

and clouds get all grassy

the dark month

Sounds like a really long Batman film, doesn't it? The dark month. But it has begun, sun is about to die only to be reborn a few days later, and so far, the dark has been delicious

November waits

Undoubtedly, there's beauty to November. The ever increasing contrast, for example, between the stripped wet branches and increasingly cold grey sky, can be quite startling, and as such quite pretty. But god does this weather suck, and man, does the constant grey affect my mood. It's time for either snow or sun, not this, what they call in Shadowland, 'waiting room of a world'.

Digital Single Lens Reflections

Through the mirror of my mind, last night must have been a reflective evening, if i look at the photo's i took. Or wait, when it's outside reflections you notice afterwards, are you then only reflective post-reflection? For where i was aware of shooting reflections, i hadn't reflected the theme was reflection, so i wasn't reflective of reflection, and certainly didn't reflect on current reflection on the nature of reflectiveness, be it literal of figurative.

So i wasn't reflective, but the pictures were, and in retroflect, this makes me reflective?

on dykes and foot

Travelled to a dyke -which in Holland can take you anywhere from a second (when you live on one) to a full 10 minutes (when you live in the highlands, i.e. anything marginally above water level). It was a very well-rounded trip, in that i got back again, and the dyke was both new

and old

out for a walk

and where i was only walking, dude to my right was jogging with the enthusiasm of a second week diet

jogger

and crazy dog to my left sprinting and leaping with the joy of having a plastic bottle in her mouth

and the reet was dancing

but the navigator of the submarine got fired -no dykes allowed in the navy
