Yes, they're stunning, aren't they? Especially in the late afternoon sunlight, which gives these marigolds (tagetes sp.) a gorgeous, golden glow. There are many fields like these in 'our' area. Actually, I understand that the local farmers plant these marigolds as a form of soil condition, in particular to retain control over the number of nematodes. So the beauty is actually a side effect. But this method beats the living daylights out of chemical pesticides, doesn't it?
